Relaxing Techniques Drugs To Avoid High Blood [by: Mini Tangas]

Relaxing Techniques Drugs To Avoid High Blood [by: Mini Tangas]

Learn stress management techniques can help people who suffer from one type of high blood pressure usually attack older people eliminate their need for anti-hypertension drugs, according to a new study.

People who have the condition, known as isolated systolic hypertension, who participated in relaxation training had a better chance to be able to eliminate at least one medication for high blood compared with those who did not participate in relaxation training, Dr findings. Jeffery A. Dusek of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and colleagues.

If their findings are confirmed in people suffering from other types of hypertension, Dusek and colleagues conclude, the benefits in preventing stroke, heart attack, kidney failure and other illnesses effects high blood pressure (and reduced cost to buy drugs) will be "indescribable".

As people age, their systolic high pressure (the highest in record high blood pressure) tends to rise, while their diastolic blood pressure, or the lowest, often down, Dusek and his team explain in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine.

As many as three-quarters of elderly people who suffer from high blood pressure have isolated systolic hypertension, which is a "challenge for medicine" to treat effectively, given the risk is too low diastolic blood pressure, and the fact that many elderly people use more drugs, they said .

To determine whether learning stress management techniques can help people deal with systolic hypertension without drugs, the researchers randomized 122 men and women who suffer from high blood pressure, and aged 55 years and over for eight weeks of training or a casual reaction monitoring group. All using at least two types of anti-high blood at the beginning of the study.

People who are in the relaxation response group participated in weekly activities that include 15 minutes of instruction on how to produce a reaction (such as mindfulness meditation and deep breathing), and 20 minutes of relaxation response activities. They were instructed to listen to relaxation tapes the reaction for 20 minutes every day.

Patients in the observation group listened to a series of instructions regarding the recording technique of treatment for 20 minutes.

At the end of eight weeks, 44 people in the relaxation response group and 36 observation group participants had lowered their blood pressure to target levels and is eligible to participate in another eight weeks of training that includes the removal of anti-high blood-controlled.

As many as 32% of participants in the study group can maintain relaxation of their blood pressure at the recommended level while eliminating one or more anti-high blood-they, are they who are in the group amounted to 14% visibility.

After the researchers to monitor various characteristics of people in each group, they found that in the relaxation group increases the chance for someone to be able to eliminate at least one drug more than quadrupled.
